Quincy M. Collins is a 33 year old native of Dallas, TX and a graduate of the Lamar Institute of Technology  (LIT)’99 and the Lamar University College of Engineering ’00. As a student at LIT, Quincy was a President’s honor list recipient and took part in the LIT-BBSME student exchange program in Hannover Germany ‘99.  At Lamar University, Quincy was an intramurals athlete, martial arts  competitor and  member of the award winning Psalms 150 Gospel Choir.
 
Quincy received an AAS in Process Operating Technology and a BS in Industrial Technology from Lamar before attending the US Navy Officer Candidate School and receiving his commission as an unrestricted line officer.  Quincy obtained the US Navy rank of full Lieutenant (LT) by the age of of 26. He served on active duty for over five years receiving qualification as a surface warfare officer at sea while forward deployed to the Middle East in support of the war on terror.  He served on two US Navy warships: the USS Mount Vernon (LSD-39) amphibious attack, and the USS Howard (DDG-83) guided-missle destroyer and has sailed throughout the North Atlantic and Pacific Rim. In 2007 Quincy was subsequently recalled to active duty serving as communications/IT officer for Mobile Inshore Underwater warfare unit-202 forward deployed to the Middle East in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring freedom. In 2005 he became a member of the Veteran of Foriegn Wars (VFW) congressionally chartered war veterans organization. In 2008-09 Quincy served as research assistant at the Naval War College in Newport, RI and completed the Maritime Staff Operators Course (MSOC) in preparation to work on a joint military task force. Quincy's award's include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Achievement Medals (3), Sea Service Deployment Ribbons (2), Battle "E", Mobilization, and Expeditionary service.
 
After returning from his overseas military assignments in 2005, Quincy volunteered to work as a science, service, medicine mentor (S2M2) at the US Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD caring for disabled veterans.  After five years of service to his country, Quincy moved to the Boston, MA area with his wife in order to accept a job as a medical technology services manager with plans to further his education. After working for one year as a healthcare services manager, Quincy interned at the investment banking firm Merrill Lynch, and at age 29 obtained full securities and insurance licensure (Series 7,65,63 Life and Health). He completed continuing education coursework at the Harvard School of Public Health before gaining acceptance and graduating with a Master of Arts degree in Extension Studies (General Management) from Harvard University '09.  Soon there after Quincy gained acceptance into and recently completed the Boston based PrepMD '10 Medical Devices training program in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management (CRM- Implantable Pacemakers, Defibrillators and Heart Failure CRT devices) with clinical observations taking place at Harvard Medical School and Tufts New England Medical Center. Quincy now resides in Orlando, FL where he is employed as a CRM Arrhythmia specialist for Mid Florida Cardiology an affiliate of the Orlando Health network. He is married to Azeb Teshome Collins ( A native of Ethiopia and licensed healthcare professional). Quincy's younger brother, LT Shawn K. Collins is currently a practicing attorney in the US Navy Judge Advocate General Corps serving overseas.
